SKYROCKETING MOMENTUM: GRIMES RAISES NEARLY $5 MILLION TO DATE; BOASTS 30,000 GRASSROOTS SUPPORTERS
FRANKFORT – Alison for Kentucky is proud to announce that the campaign has raised nearly $5 million from approximately 30,000 individuals to date. In the fourth quarter alone, supporters donated an impressive $2.1 million to our campaign – surpassing most all challenger and incumbent campaigns nationwide. Grassroots supporters from all 120 Kentucky counties and all 50 states have invested in our campaign, underscoring the growing momentum behind Alison’s candidacy and the widely expressed rejection of Mitch McConnell’s failed, 30-year Washington record. Alison shared this exciting news with her supporters earlier today.
Alison’s solid grassroots foundation is further exhibited by our campaign’s $25 median contribution and over 26,000 contributions under $50. Despite the McConnell campaign burning through nearly every dollar raised in 2013’s third fundraising quarter, our campaign has built a war chest of almost $3.5 million that will allow us to have the resources to win this race. The strong demonstration of Alison for Kentucky’s fundraising prowess comes on the heels of the ninth recent poll showing Alison tied or ahead of Mitch McConnell.
